17 Feb 2011 - Grandma Vern and dad attended vegetarian lunch (KIN JE) at Wat Bang Long for the occasion of BOUN MAKHABUSA 17-18 Febuary. Dad donated 20,000 Kip to the temple. Then, Grandma Vern and dad visited Wat OngTu to pay homage to Phra OngTu, the grand ancient Buddha image (about more than 440 yo). Dad donated 50,000 Kip to Wat OngTu, and Grandma also donated some. We met a monk who asked for donation to build a temple main gate at Wat Ban Mai Nong Kwai (a new village) - Grandma donated 100,000 Kip and dad donated 50,000 to the monk. Donations to help support the Sangha are good deeds, as these will fuel the wheel of Dhamma and promote the Buddha's teachings of loving-kindness and compassion.
Later, Grandma and dad also paid a visit to Wat Inpang to see the historical statues of the two Queens from the 16th century.
